A Church With Deep Roots
Harper Chapel's story began in the 1800s when local families gathered in their homes to worship. In 1911, they built their first chapel, creating the foundation for a church that continues serving the Lake of the Ozarks community today.
That history remains an important part of who they are, but Harper Chapel is also focused on making a difference in the present.
Faith That Reaches Beyond Sunday
Harper Chapel believes faith should be put into action. Through local and global missions, the congregation supports organizations and initiatives such as God's Closet, Hope House, foster care and adoption support, and the Mozambique Initiative.
The church also offers Bible studies, fellowship groups, music ministries, and community gatherings that give people opportunities to connect, serve, and grow together.

Beautiful Sanctuary! Friendly atmosphere. Pastor Eric has a Bible-based message that is always relevant to today's world. The praise band is awesome! There are also traditional hymns mixed in the service.

Harper Chapel UMC has the best music. From an amazing organist to a fantastic piano player, plus handbells, Praise Band and a choir. We are truly blessed with some of the best praise and traditional music. Our service is blended with both types of music and our Pastor presents a great sermon that both enlightens and teaches God's word. We are congregation reaching up to God and out to People.

We enjoy the combination of contemporary and traditional music in one service. Pastor Eric Schmidt provides a Biblical based message that pertains to living in today’s world. The congregation is friendly and welcomes ALL people, offering communion weekly to anyone who believes in Jesus Christ as their Savior.
